This workshop explores the steps necessary to complete a color study in a standard open studio session of two to three hours. The instructor will begin with a painting demonstration to address proportions, value structures, color, and edges. Participants are free to use their favorite painting medium, but having a working knowledge of it beforehand is beneficial. Oil, acrylic, gouache, watercolor, and pastel artists are welcome.
I highly recommend water-mixable oils for their ease of clean-up and non-reliance on vapor-harmful solvents. If you use traditional oil paints, please use Gamsol Only and keep it capped when not in use. I will be working in either acrylic or gouache paints for the demonstrations; however, you are free to use your paint of choice.
