Artist of the Month

This monthly competition is open to all members who attend the monthly General Meeting on the third Tuesday of each month (except December).

Members are invited to bring one piece of art to the General Meeting for the competition.  During the meeting, members will vote for one piece of art submitted. Each Artist of the Month winner receives a ribbon, a cash prize of $25.  Once an artist receives the Artist of the Month distinction, they are ineligible to enter for the remainder of the year.

Artist of the Month winners will display 3 pieces of art for the Artist of the Year competition. The winning piece for Artist of the Month should be included. If the winning piece is unavailable, a high-quality reproduction may be substituted. Members vote for the Artist of the Year at the November General Meeting. The Winner is ineligible to enter the competition the following year.  The Artist of the Year wins a cash prize of $100.

All artists are celebrated at a show during December and reception for their work at the December Holiday Party.

Rules:

  • Artwork must arrive by 6:00pm. Voting starts at 6:30pm.
  • Participating artists must be members of AAG.
  • 2D artwork must be wired for hanging and no larger than 32 inches on the largest side.
  • 3D artwork must be installed by the artist.
  • Artwork is subject to the conditions of the Hold Harmless Agreement used in all AAG exhibits. Ask the Artist of the Month Director for a copy of the Agreement.
  • The Artist of the Year winner is ineligible to compete in the following year’s Artist of the Month competition.
