If you’re a serious water-media artist in the Valley of the Sun, you’ve probably seen some of Dyanne Locati’s paintings, or taken a class from her, or heard her speak about her painting technique, or even had her critique your art.  In addition to being an award-winning artist, she’s an author, instructor, and leader in various art organizations. Her artwork and step-by-step directions have been featured in and on the cover of 15 books, both in the US and Europe.

An active member of nine artists’ groups, Dyanne takes pride in being a go-to mentor and critique-group participant in all of them.  Recently, she wrote, “Many years ago, a group of fellow artists and I started a critique group. This is a group that examines paintings and says, “what if you tried”, or “how about doing this” to make the painting a better piece.” 

AAG is pleased that Dyanne will be giving a two-hour interactive discussion on Improving Your Critiquing Skills based on her many years of critique group experiences.  Attendees are requested to bring one piece of art; Dyanne will critique as many pieces as time allows and will use each critique as a platform for sharing her approach and techniques for evaluating the art and giving feedback to the artist.
