14th Annual Statewide Exhibition

This exhibit is open to all residents of Arizona.
Membership of AAG is not required for this exhibition. There is no
theme.

Location: WHAM Community Art Center, 16560 N Dysart Rd, Surprise, AZ 85378 

All artwork must be at the venue by noon on Friday August 1, 2025.

Hours: Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 4pm

Opening Awards Reception: Saturday August 9, 2 – 4 pm

Pick up art: Friday, August 29, 3 – 5 pm. Other dates/times available by prior appointment.

Award of Excellence: $500

Entry Fees:

AAG Members: $45 for up to 3 pieces

AAG Non-Members: $50 for up to 3 pieces

Requirements

  1. The artist must be over the age of 18, and a current resident of the State of Arizona.
  2. Entries must be the original (no giclées) work of the applicant, not created in any class or

workshop or from other artists’ references. It must have been created within the last two years.

  1. All visual art media accepted. Diptychs and triptychs must be submitted as one entry and

conform to overall size limits, see below. All materials must be completely dry including

varnish if used. Clay must be fired. Dried, unfired paper-clay is acceptable.

  1. Artwork must be submitted as digital JPEG images. Submit only one image per piece of

artwork. However, up to 3 views of sculpture works may be submitted via email. Videos of

kinetic sculpture must be submitted in .mp4 format.

  1. Three-dimensional work is not to exceed 50 lbs. Artists requiring pedestals larger than

12″x12″, please indicate in your entry.

  1. Two-dimensional work must not exceed 40-inches in width and 60-inches in height. Art

must be adequately wired and ready to hang (no saw tooth hangers). The hanging wire must

be placed no more than one third of the way from the top of the frame. Artwork with frames

considered below minimal gallery standards will not be displayed. Mats must be neutral in color,

clean and professional in presentation. Gallery wraps are acceptable provided they are at least

1-1/2 inches deep and are painted on all four sides. Paintings under glass should use Plexiglass

for any artwork greater than 16 x 20”.

  1. Artwork must be priced and must be available for sale (no NFS), the price should include a

25% commission which goes to WHAM. AAG does not receive commissions from sales. All art

sales are handled by WHAM. All accepted artists must also sign a hold harmless agreement for

WHAM which will be attached to the acceptance email.

  1. Accepted artwork must be clearly labeled with artist’s name, title of artwork, medium, year of

completion, dimensions, and price.

  1. Complex installation pieces may require the artist to assist in installation.
  2. Applicants may submit a short bio or artist statement with their submission. 100 words or

less.

The artist retains copyright to the artwork; however, Arizona Artists Guild reserves the right to

photograph and publish images of the artwork for the purposes of promotion for this exhibition

and future exhibitions.

Liabilities and Responsibilities: Arizona Artists Guild and WHAM will not be responsible for

any loss or damage. Though every effort will be made to protect submitted artworks, I

understand that Arizona Artist Guild, its volunteers, and any other parties under its direction,

assume no responsibility or liability for loss or damage to artwork, framing or accessories while

it is in transit and during the show. By submitting artwork to this Exhibit, I agree to relieve the

above-mentioned parties from any and all liability to myself, my artwork and/or property.
