Discover a fresh approach to landscape painting through color, memory, and emotion. Inspired by our immediate surroundings, you’ll create quick color studies that capture not only what you see, but also what you feel. Together we’ll explore how color, temperature, and mark-making can transform a  landscape into a personal expression.

Using oil paint, cold wax, and a variety of tools, you’ll experiment with expressive techniques while working from your own reference images. Through a series of short studio exercises, you’ll begin building a library of color studies and visual memories that can inspire future paintings. We’ll conclude the workshop by bringing these discoveries together in an expressive 8×8 painting that reflects your unique experience of the landscape. All levels of oil painters are welcome. We use only non-toxic materials, including natural lavender spirits.
