Rachel Barlow is a Licensed Associate Counselor with a Master of Arts in Counseling in Expressive Arts Therapy.

“I deeply believe in the healing power of the art making process. I’ve seen that many times, words are not capable of communicating our inner experience. The expression of visual art, music, and movement can help us feel fully self-expressed, seen, and heard. I also engage in my personal art making process and hold a love for mixed media expression and collage with a focus on the expression of spiritual life. I join you in Creative Journey as a facilitator and fellow survivor of suicide loss. I’m honored to walk with you through your experience of loss, healing, and growth.”

Kristel Nielsen is a versatile artist, expressing herself through ceramics, watercolor, markers, and acrylics. Art is not just a creative outlet for her; it’s a healing journey. As a registered nurse and an advocate for self-care and mental health, she strives to inspire others through her work, believing that art has the power to support recovery and personal growth.

Having experienced the profound pain of losing three loved ones to suicide, Kristel has turned her grief into a mission of hope. She is the founder of YourArtYourStory.org , a project dedicated to helping individuals use art as a tool for healing and self-expression. Through this, and as a Board member of the Arizona Art Alliance, she remains committed to creating spaces where people can share their stories, heal, and feel seen.
