In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the fundamentals of gouge control, positive and negative space design, inking, and hand-burnishing clean, crisp prints without a press. With guided live demonstrations, beginner-friendly templates, and personalized instruction, you’ll gain the skills and confidence to create beautiful hand-pulled art and continue block printing right at your kitchen table. Perfect for beginners and artists looking to explore a new medium!
Supply list:
A basic printmaking carving set (sold for around $10)
1 – 2 printmaking ink colors, preferred Acua Soy (don’t need to get the large size unless wanted)
Pallet knife
A printmaking baren or alternatively, a wooden rice spoon to be designated as printmaking/art use only. Optional: higher end watercolor paper like Rives BFK or Arches
Provided: basic watercolor paper, printmaking blocks, black block printing ink.
