Portrait Drawing with Amber Victoria
Sunday, March 16th Noon to 4pm
$55 Members $60 Non-Members

Working with a model, this workshop will emphasize the art of expressive drawing using charcoal and pencil, immersing themselves in the creation of impressions of the model. The focus will be on harnessing the expressive capabilities of charcoal, inviting artists of all skill levels to discover their unique voice and translate it into impactful visual representations utilizing proportions, value, soft/defined edges and imagination. Amber will tailor her advice to fit where you are in your artistic journey. Students are encouraged to follow their own style while using proportion, light, value and composition to add to the creation of expressive portraits, increase visual sensitivity, when to use it or de-emphasize visual cues. We will start with demos, warm up, then a long pose.

Amber Victoria has a deep understanding of art is a lifelong mission and is her way to capture her imagination in color and light; life moments some are impressionistic to abstract as a poem. Amber’s art is not only representative of the outside world but also a reflection of her inner world and humor. By imagining stories about subjects and considering the emotional reactions of viewers, Amber captures her vision. The story of each painting was lost so she took her artist journey another step and authored and illustrated young reader books.
