Pastel Portraits Of Animals With Attitude!  with Carol Lei Bendell

Soft Pastel is an exciting, tactile medium that can give rich color experience seldom seen in other mediums. With a theme of creating pastel portrait images of animals, birds, or whatever critter you see as a worthy subject, you will enhance your ability to create fur, feathers, eyes with reflections, wet noses, and so on. All levels of proficiency are accepted in this course. It will be a fun, enriching and empowering.
The goal of this one-day workshop is to give courage and success to all participants, regardless of where they are with their painting experience. Learning about the properties of papers, pastel color mixing and layering will give students greater ability in all their pastel endeavors.

Carol has always been heavily involved in the arts, receiving a BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and doing graduate study in Visual Communication at IIT, Institute of Design. She has worked as an Editorial Illustrator, Fine Arts Reporter, and Visual Arts Instructor at numerous Art Centers, schools and colleges. Her artwork has been exhibited in the US and in Europe.
