Discover how to bring your fine art skills into the digital world with the Procreate app in this beginner-friendly workshop. If you’re comfortable drawing or painting with traditional materials, this workshop will help you translate those skills into a digital workflow using Procreate. Whether you’re curious about digital art or ready to try something new, you’ll leave with the confidence to continue creating using the Procreate app. No digital art experience is necessary!

Materials

  • Any iPad that supports Apple Pencil and can run the current version of Procreate.
  • Apple Pencil – fully charged (1st or 2nd generation, depending on your iPad model)
  • Procreate app installed before the first class (There is a one-time fee to purchase the app)
  • iPad- fully charged (bring your charging cable)
  • Optional: Sketchbook and pencil for planning ideas or taking notes

*Please arrive with Procreate already installed and updated on your iPad.

Basic familiarity with using an iPad (opening apps, adjusting settings, and connecting your Apple Pencil) is helpful, but no prior experience with Procreate is required.

Nice-to-Have (Optional)

  • A tablet stand or case that props up your iPad
  • Screen protector with a paper-like texture (optional, but many artists enjoy the drawing feel)
