2 Day Workshop with David Lloyd Bradley

This 2 day, hands on workshop will focus on techniques for creating low relief sculptures of people, pets and objects. Day one on Saturday, May 2nd starting at 10 am, working from photo references, participants will be taken through the process of creating a 3d illusion of the image. There will be demonstrations and the opportunity to create one or more clay reliefs during the 6 hour day.
The 2nd day on Sunday, May 17th starting at noon, will be information and demonstrations of how to finish the fired sculpture with non-fired materials. Participants will be provided with watercolors, acrylic paint, ink and other materials, but are encouraged to bring other mediums to try.

Clay will be provided for a $30 supply fee paid to the instructor. Firing of two or three pieces from the workshop are included in the workshop fee.

David Lloyd Bradley has been a professional artist for 50 years. He acquired skill in making vessels on the pottery wheel in a variety of clay studios and factories, as well as earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting from La. Tech University, and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Ceramics from the University of North Texas. He was professor of Art at Paradise Valley Community College for 25 years, during which time he built the ceramics program into the largest in the state in higher education. He has traveled the world studying ceramics as he led 13 Study Abroad programs during his tenure. In 2024 he traveled to Shanghai, China for two week workshop in sculpting clay reliefs. His work has been exhibited across the United States and internationally. His website is Firesongpaperwish.com.
