I live my life governed by a few credos. ‘It takes a village’ is at my core – long before Hillary wrote her book. I truly believe we can’t go it alone. We need others in our lives to keep us fresh, not only to share life’s burdens but also the joys and to bear witness to one another as we navigate our way.
As artists we work alone. The creative process is at once strange and wonderful, turbulent and exuberant. As members of AAG, you don’t have to go it alone. By engaging with your AAG village you open to opportunities for artistic growth and development and perhaps something unexpected will happen along the way.
This year we have an exciting line up of presenters, workshops, exhibitions and events providing ample opportunities for you to be involved – from behind the scenes volunteering or as a participant. Both roles are equally important as they fuel each other.
I invite you to come to the meeting on September 20 to learn more about the upcoming year. Be sure to check out the website to see what’s been planned. And if you haven’t already, be sure to sign up for e-blast – it’s a great way to stay informed!
Have a great 2016-2017 AAG year!
