Encaustic painting is an ancient art that is seeing a resurgence because of it’s beautiful luminosity and versatility. In this workshop students will be introduced to the basics of working with encaustic paint, the supplies needed, and what materials work with this medium. Students will create two 4″x4″ pieces to try different techniques then work on an 8″x8″ piece. Techniques that will be covered include layering, mixed media elements, pan pastels, oil pastels, accretion (building up the surface), and incising.

All supplies and tools are included with a $40 supply fee paid to the instructor. This workshop is limited to 10 students.
