Materials List:
- At least two sheets of paper (one for a backup), minimum size of 11×14 inches. I recommend bringing something with a smooth or medium-grain surface, such as Stonehenge Legion White Paper. Strathmore 400 Series Drawing Paper is a good alternative.
- General’s 6B compressed charcoal sticks
- General’s Charcoal Pencils, at least 2 each of 4B (Soft), 2B (Medium), and HB (Hard)
- Large kneaded eraser
- Clickable eraser (e.g. Factis BM-2)
- At least one large blending stump
- Drawing board
- 2 clips and/or artists’ tape, to secure your drawing to your board
- Sandpaper pad or paper, medium grit
- Optional: a chamois or spare cotton rag, for more delicate blending and softening
Note: Students may substitute other drawing materials if they wish and if they have some experience with them, but the instructor will be using the specific items listed above.
