Each monthly meeting offers a presentation or demonstration by expert artists.
Each month from September through May, except for December, on the third Tuesday of the month there is an evening of socializing with artists of all media, informative and entertaining presentations by experts in their fields, critiques of member artworks, and competition for Artist of the Month.

Meeting Programs 2017-2018
September 19, 2017: Roy Wasson Valle and Koryn Woodward Wasson
Roy Wasson Valle was born in 1976 in Mexico City, Mexico. He lived in Cuernavaca, Mexico until the age of 11 when his family moved to Prescott, AZ. In 2003 he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture from Arizona State University. He has since had several one-man shows at 515 Arts Gallery of which he is a (former) member and has participated in several invitational group shows in exhibition spaces including the Arizona Museum for Youth and the Mesa Arts Center and the Phoenix Art Museum. In 2007 he married Koryn Woodward and they had a baby girl five years later. He and collaborator Koryn created Camp Dreamtree in 2014 at the Scottsdale Public Library which is an interactive art camp installation. They have together made two additional installation shows, Fireweather and Bird Cloud Island which Koryn directed. He makes work which is fun and fun to look at. It ranges from flat images to full scale structure construction and he is always trying out new media to reach his audience. He is a now a second year graduate student of Sculpture at Arizona State University.
Koryn Woodward Wasson was born in Phoenix, Arizona. She attended Arizona State University where she received a BFA in Arts Education with an emphasis in printmaking. She has taught over 10 years high school art for the charter school system and is starting her first year for the Isaac School District where she will be teaching at the Junior High level for Pueblo del Sol. She has participated in many group shows ranging from ASU, Roosevelt Row and the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art. After the creation of Camp Dreamtree with her husband and collaborator, the two formed Fireweather Studio which they now work under. Koryn has her first solo installation produced by Fireweather Studio on display until August 31st, 2017 called Bird Cloud island at the Scottsdale Civic Center Library.
October 17, 2017: Elliott Kayser
Elliott Kayser is a sculptor and current resident artist at the Mesa Arts Center. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Alfred University in 2007, and his MFA in Ceramics from ASU in 2017. While between degrees, Elliott moved to Ann Arbor, MI where he worked at a ceramic tile company and volunteered on small family farms. This experience has informed his art which expresss the values learned in the fields, tending to the animals and the people within the agricultural community. Kayser’s work can be found at AMOCA, Red Lodge Clay Center, and The Clay Studio in Philly.
Kayser’s presentation will include a talk on how his approach to art, specifically how his ceramic sculptures explore America’s relationship to agriculture, economics, and community health, and the consequences of our departure from agrarian life.
November 21, 2017: Seth Fairweather
Seth Fairweather began working with glass at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. He transferred to Alfred University, where he received his BFA in 2007. He finished a MFA from Temple University in 2010. He has worked at the Corning Museum of Glass, the American Museum of Natural History, the New Orleans School of Glassworks, as well as Wet Dog Glass as an equipment fabricator. He has been an instructor at the University of Miami, studios across the country, and has exhibited his work nationally and internationally. In 2015 Fairweather launched the first accredited glass blowing program at Paradise Valley Community College in Phoenix, Arizona, where he continues to teach.
January 16, 2018: David L Bradley
David L Bradley received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting, Louisiana Tech University, 1976 and his Master of Fine Arts in Ceramics, North Texas State University, 1982. Since Graduate school he has made a living by teaching all levels about ceramics and Art, and by making objects both utilitarian and sculptural. He is a Professor of Art at Paradise Valley Community College and actively engaged in his art practice. A global citizen, Bradley is well traveled and brings his influence as both an instructor and an artist to the four corners of the globe. In 2017 he spent two one-month periods in Bosnia meeting with local artists and community members. He will be presenting on his experiences there and observation of the art and culture of the Balkans regions he visited.
February 20, 2018: Travis Ivey
Born 1978 in Cheyenne, WY, Travis Ivey is an artist living and working in Phoenix, AZ. His interests in image and identity stereotypes have led to the creation of his alter ego, HANK. Under this alias Ivey creates paintings of the vast western landscape with an emphasis on human ecology and the environment. Alternately, Ivey’s other work originates in the imaginative and introspective, and is created using found and collected materials. His work is included in numerous public and private collections including the Wyoming State Museum and the Governor’s Capital Art Collection in Cheyenne, WY.
March 20, 2018: Presentation by the 2018 AAG Scholarship Recipients

May 15, 2018: Outreach Programs Exhibition and Reception
A presentation by Co-Chairs of the AAG Outreach Programs and exhibition of the AAG/Paradise Valley Community College Veterans Ceramic Class. This program was made possible from a grant from Vetart.org and supported by Paradise Valley Community College, Arizona Artists Guild and Marjons Ceramics.
