The Arizona Artists Guild (AAG), founded in 1928, is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization led by volunteers dedicated to providing and promoting opportunities in the visual arts including exhibitions, educational and outreach programs. Membership is made up of professional as well as aspiring artists working in a variety of media. Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month, September through April, at 7:00 pm. Pre-meeting critique sessions begin at 6:00 p.m. Beginning January 17, 2006, regular meetings will be held at the Sunrise United Methodist Church - 19234 N. 7th Ave. in Phoenix (4 blocks south of Loop 101, near the AAG-owned property where our new building will be constructed.) Meetings feature an art related program (demonstrations, slides, lectures, etc.), preceded by a short business / informational segment. An artist-of-the-month is selected by meeting participants. Programs offered by the AAG include member exhibitions, plein air sessions, Guild School of Art workshops, college scholarships, various community-outreach activities and “fun”d-raising events. |
